Being a housekeeper and a nurse
I have been performing various house-related tasks since Jakob was born. This is mostly due to episiotomy, which was done to Mica during the birth. It is literally “pain in the ass” and she’s only able to travel from the bed to the bathroom. Therefore, these days I spend most time cooking, cleaning, washing (okay, putting clothes in washing machine), washing the dishes, changing Jakob’s nappies, shopping, preparing tea, etc. It is not hard to do that, when you feel you are really needed. Even if this means being peed by our boy from time to time.
However, this condition will last one more week or so, so then I’ll finally be able to start working on other things too.
By the way, having this a baby this young (a week or so old) can be sometimes also boring, since he’s only able to cry, sleep and eat (drink actually). It’s not possible to play or communicate with him. So I am really looking forward to be able to do that. =)

Sorry, but being a humanistic student I can’t leave the following sentence alone.
“It’s not possible to play or communicate with him.”
I’ll cite one of my favourite axioms of communication (the other one is about punctuation) directly from Wikipedia:
One Cannot Not Communicate (Man kann nicht nicht kommunizieren): Every behaviour is a kind of communication. Because behaviour does not have a counterpart (there is no anti-behaviour), it is not possible not to communicate. (by Watzlawick)
In other words, also crying, sleeping and drinking are ways of communication :)

Well, I hardly argue with a professional on the field. :) However, with communication I meant talking or at least grumbling or something. :)

Speaking of professionals. If you haven’t yet, you should file requests for child-related benefits. Check this link. You can file some online, if you have a digital signature.
And check this one for your “paternal leave”.

I already applied for “otroški dodatek” (I don’t know the English word) via E-uprava and I hope it will work. :) Although I am a bit disappointed because E-uprava does not work with non-IE browsers (E-davki, for example does), the procedure was relatively smooth (I had to call user support anyway, because there are some security tricks with IE 7 and Vista).
I will also apply for paternal leave as soon I get employed – this will assumably happen on 1 December 2008.
Thanks, though, for both links. :)

I just wanna shake your hands!
You love FreeBSD, WordPress (one of my favourite theme is ElegantGrunge) and be able to stay at home with your little baby. Grat! I know, it could sometimes be very challenging with a little baby, like Jakob is. Keep going forward!!
And say hello to your waifa also. I hope she’ll better shortly!
